Travel Information: Electronic Travel Authorisation
Changes to travel to the UK
We would like to draw your attention to the introduction of the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) scheme.
What you need to know
If you’re not a UK or Irish national, you may need an ETA to enter the UK. The requirement differs depending on the date you’re travelling and the nationality on your passport:
From 8 January 2025: Visitors travelling to the UK from non-EU countries, including the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, will need to purchase an ETA.
From 2 April 2025: Visitors travelling to the UK from EU countries will need to purchase an ETA.
The ETA will cost £10 per applicant, and will be valid for two years, or until the holder’s passport expires, whichever is sooner.
What you need to do
Check if this applies for you. If so, it is your responsibility to attain an ETA before travelling and to ensure that you have the correct documentation needed to travel.
Please note, this requirement applies to those transiting through the UK, unless you are not going through UK border control.
You can find full details on who this applies to, and the full process here, on the GOV.UK website.
If you have any questions regarding this, please do not hesitate to
