Read our Update: April 2025

31 Mar 2025

A warm welcome to our April Update.

Here we share the full list of tours for 2025. These stretch across the UK and Europe to North Africa and the Middle East, Asia, the USA and Latin America. Themes span art and architecture, gastronomy, music, history, gardens, archaeology, with all tours led by an expert speaker supported by one of our experienced tour managers. The eight tours highlighted within suggest the depth and breadth of our offering – and all have places available at the time of going to print.

If you are hoping to get away in the next couple of months, may I also draw your attention to the following:

Walking the Rhine Valley, led by Richard Wigmore, runs parallel to our highly acclaimed festival Music Along the Rhine in May. Participants attend five performances (with Isabelle Faust, Kristian Bezuidenhout, Sophie Bevan, Consone Quartet, Barocksolisten München, Basel Chamber Orchestra) and in between track the river on beautiful country walks.

Art in Scotland in May presents many superb collections across four cities, not least the award-winning Burrell, the Scottish National Gallery and the V&A Dundee. Our accompanying art historian is Desmond Shawe-Taylor, former Surveyor of the Queen’s Pictures.

The Road to Santiago, led by Dr Richard Plant in June, is an extraordinary architectural journey across northern Spain, one of the world’s greatest pilgrimages but with the comfort of a coach and excellent hotels.

And later in the year, our recently launched Ring in Berlin, 4–13 October 2025, led by Wagner expert Barry Millington and performed at the Staatsoper with Dmitri Tcherniakov’s production. The cast is immense: Michael Volle (Wotan), Anja Kampe (Brünnhilde), Andreas Schager (Siegfried), Vida Miknevičūtė (Sieglinde), Eric Cutler (Siegmund), Mika Kares (Fasolt, Hunding, Hagen).

There is so much more we can recommend so please call us, in London, Brisbane or toll-free from the US. We would love to help.

With best wishes,

Fiona Charrington
Chief Executive
